Volunteer Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the volunteer program at Hidden Hill Farm. By participating in our volunteer program, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully to understand your responsibilities and our expectations.

1. Eligibility

  • Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult at all times.

  • Volunteers must be physically capable of performing tasks as assigned. Certain roles may require lifting, standing, or working outdoors in various weather conditions.

2. First-Time Volunteers

  • All first-time volunteers must arrive 30 minutes early for a meet-and-greet and orientation with farm staff.

  • Orientation includes a brief introduction to farm rules, safety guidelines, and job tasks.

3. Commitment and Scheduling

  • Volunteers must commit to their scheduled shifts. If you are unable to attend a shift, please notify the farm at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are expected. Failure to show up without notice may result in removal from the program.

4. Safety Rules

  • Volunteers must follow all safety instructions provided by farm staff at all times.

  • Appropriate clothing and footwear (closed-toe shoes or boots) must be worn while volunteering.

  • Volunteers must use farm equipment responsibly and report any damage or malfunction immediately.

  • No unauthorized handling or interaction with animals is allowed unless instructed by staff.

  • Volunteers are required to report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to farm staff immediately.

5. Behavior and Conduct

  • Volunteers must treat all staff, other volunteers, visitors, and animals with respect and care.

  • Disrespectful, inappropriate, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate dismissal from the volunteer program.

  • Smoking, drug use, and alcohol consumption are prohibited while volunteering.

6. Animal Care and Handling

  • Volunteers must follow specific instructions when working with or around animals. Volunteers should not feed or handle animals unless directed by staff.

  • Rough handling, teasing, or inappropriate behavior around animals will result in immediate removal from the program.

7. Confidentiality

  • Volunteers may be exposed to sensitive information about the farm, its operations, or visitors. This information must be kept confidential and not shared outside of the farm.

8. Farm Property and Equipment

  • Volunteers are expected to treat farm property, tools, and equipment with care. Any misuse or damage to property may result in the volunteer being held responsible.

  • Volunteers must ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned and properly stored after use.

9. Termination of Volunteer Agreement

  • Hidden Hill Farm reserves the right to terminate any volunteer’s participation in the program at any time for failure to comply with these terms or for any other reason deemed necessary by farm management.

  • Volunteers may also choose to end their commitment to the program by notifying farm staff in advance.

10. Liability and Acknowledgment of Risk

  • Volunteers acknowledge that working on a farm involves certain risks, including, but not limited to, injury from animals or equipment.

  • Volunteers agree to release Hidden Hill Farm and its staff from any liability for injuries, accidents, or damages that may occur while volunteering.

11. Media Release

  • By participating in the volunteer program, volunteers grant Hidden Hill Farm permission to use any photos, videos, or recordings taken during volunteer activities for promotional purposes, including on social media and the farm's website.

12. Privacy Policy

  • Any personal information provided by volunteers will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Hidden Hill Farm will not share or sell personal information without consent, except as required by law.

13. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

  • Hidden Hill Farm reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to volunteers, and continued participation in the program will constitute acceptance of the new terms.
